What is this?

Join us as we investigate some of the foundations of physical science.  Discover how you can understand physics deeply without resorting to a lot of calculations.  Live the life of a scientist for a week.

In this 2 credit hour course you will deepen your understandings of the basic ideas behind motion and force, heat and temperature, and electrical circuits.  You will investigate each of these topics by engaging in interesting inquiry activities.

Who is it for?

This course, sponsored by Center for the Advancement of Math and Science Education, is part of BHSU's Science Specialist Endorsement program.  K-12 teachers who are beginning the Science Specialist program should enroll in this course.  South Dakota teachers who are interested in furthering their knowledge of physical science and science teaching are also encouraged to apply.

Details:

  • This 2 credit-hour course will be offered for the low tuition cost of about $130.
  • Housing will be provided free of charge on the BHSU campus.
  • We offer a stipend of $450 for the week
