Summer 2006 Teacher Workshops

Training is required for the MSL to visit your school. This summer, we are offering two workshops for teachers who wish to have the Mobile Science Lab come to their school. One will be held at BHSU in Spearfish and the other at SDSU in Brookings.

Schools are encouraged to send more than one science teacher, although a single teacher from a school can also apply. Teachers who did not attend a training last year but whose school had a MSL visit are also encouraged to apply. Teachers who are selected to attend one of these workshops will:

• receive extensive training on the lab activities and use of the equipment aboard the MSLs;
  receive a $250 stipend;
• be guaranteed a visit by the MSL to their school during the 2006-2007 school year;
• receive free room and board for the week;
• have the opportunity for 2 graduate credits at reduced tuition (approximately $60/credit), or
  2 certificate renewal credits.
