About the IiR Project

Inquiry into Radioactivity is a project of the South Dakota Center for the Advancement of Math and Science Education. The project goal is to make radiation literacy possible. The project is creating course materials and simulators in the service of this goal. Additionally, the IiR project is uncovering learning difficulties in the area of radiation and radioactivity, making these difficulties known to the physics education community, and providing strategies for overcoming these difficulties.

The IiR project is directed by Dr. Andy Johnson with crucial support from undergraduate classroom assistants. These include Anna Hafele, Charlotte Walling, Rebecca Maidl, Ryan Anderson and others.

The IiR project is supported by the National Science Foundation under grant DUE 0942699.
