Prepare
K-8 Teachers for the New
Millennium

PROJECT ADVISORY-MANAGEMENT TEAM (PMT) MEETING
TIME: 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
DATE: Wednesday, May 17, 2025
LOCATION: Dorr Room, Surbeck center, SDSM&T, Rapid
City
AGENDA
1. EDC Resource Centers
- Dates for EDC Seminars
- Suggestions for locations
2. Program Manager Search Report
3. Material Refurbishment Center
- We are thinking about buying and having extra supplies on-hand
at the center for emergencies. How does $2000/yr from our
refurbishment budget sound?
- I have already ordered the consumable replacements for 6 of
the school districts. I have not ordered for Kadoka or Meade
4. Professional Development Content-Focused Workshops
- Status report (Dorothy)
- Any changes to the schedule? We will post changes on the
website.
- How can we ensure fair representation of each district at the
workshops? A few PMT's have gotten reservations to me. Most of the
others have come through Lead Teachers or the teachers themselves.
We still have room in all of the workshops. We are really light on
the Orientation workshop. Should we cancel that one, postpone, is
there a need? Several teachers have reserved spots who are not on
the targeted teacher list. Once these teachers start the program
they, and the school district, are obligated to fulfill the 100
hour requirement.
5. Site visit - Joyce Evans
6. Renewal of funding update
7. Correlation of FOSS and STC State Standards by grade level
- Should we hold a day-long workshop to do it?
8. Bill Roggenthen - Sabbatical replacement
9. Evaluation updates - Bob Magelky & Ben Sayler
10. Site visit reports - Charlie Lamb, Ben Sayler
11. Motivating the project!
- How can we raise teacher's awareness of the need for the
project? (Is there a need?)
- How can we help teachers become alert to
teaching-science-for-understanding?
12. Communication Issues
- New website address: camse.spearfish.k12.sd.us/blahst
- How best to contact teachers?
13. Other
